IsisLee.com is Finally Up

June 17, 2008 by Isis Lee

My website finally went live this morning! I have to admit that there were more than a few times that I thought this event would never happen and I was just chasing a pipe dream. So honestly, I have been on cloud nine all day.

My myspace headline today was even, “Isis Lee sees the light at the end of the tunnel” because that is exactly how I feel at this moment. I feel like I have pretty much been working towards this virtually unattainable goal up until now, and it is almost surreal that it has finally happened. Well, I guess I should save most of my bragging until I actually gain some notoriety, eh?

Anyways, I haven’t been online much the last few days since I’ve been sweating it out at my day job. We just passed Friday the 13th of this year. I am not really superstitious but I couldn’t help being a little wary that day. It seemed like it got off to a great start since I finally had a good day at work. I got home later and was about to leave for the grocery store, when I opened my garage and noticed 2 little dogs, a  chihuahua and toy-poodle without collars wandering across the street. Of course you should know by now that my soft spot for dogs cannot tolerate strays since I always worry they’ll get hit by a car. I managed to get both of the little dogs over to me, and got a collar and leash around the little poodle, and surprisingly was able to pick the chihuahua up. I brought them to my backyard, and luckily they seemed to get along with Cado and Lucky, even if the male chihuahua seemed a bit stand-offish. I had a sneaking suspicion that the lost dogs had come from the house directly behind my back wall, since I had taken a peek over once and seen 2 little similar toy dogs staring up at me. So, on instinct I drove over to the same house to see if they had lost their dogs. When I got there I noticed their front door was wide open but nobody was home. I rang the doorbell, then shut it and left a note saying I had found 2 dogs I believed were theirs. With no other ideas in mind, I headed home. Finally around 11pm, the neighbors finally called and confirmed they had lost their dogs which were similar to the ones I described in my note. A man came over a few minutes later, stating that his wife had accidentally left their front door open when they left for dinner. Those little dogs were sure glad to see him I admit I was a little sad afterwards though since I had spent a little time with those little guys, and they were  so sweet and adorable. The chihuahua was a bit anti-social with the rest of the dogs (he kept showing his teeth to them)  but kept trying to snuggle in my lap. Awww! It still felt good to have done a good deed though. Well, at least as a dog owner myself, I would be more than grateful if someone had done the same if my dogs had somehow gotten loose.

However, right after the dogs left, I realized I had no idea where my car and house keys were! I even went to the supermarket I had earlier bought dinner at to see if they had them. Then circled around the neighborhood to see if I had dropped them during the dog fiasco. No luck though. Losing your keys is pretty stressful! I figured it was a lost cause around 1 in the morning finally and retreated to bed.  And guess what……I found them in my front yard in the morning! I guess the darkness had prevented me from seeing them the night before when I was searching. Yeah, that felt pretty stupid. But I guess Friday the 13th wasn’t really that bad afteralll.

I worked Saturday which turned out decent. Sunday was Father’s Day, which I figured would be slow…so I helped my best friend move in the morning, then took my 9 mm out to the range and fired off a few rounds that afternoon. Later, just got some cleaning around the house done. I was planning on working today but I needed to get my window blots replaced on my car since I got a recall notice on them last week. Apparently, they are faulty in some of the same cars and cause the window to shatter when being rolled down. Better to be safe then sorry, right…besides it was free of charge. Well, that whole thing was supposed to last 2 hours but they didn’t call me to pick up the car until 4 hours later. (I think the service consultant went to lunch in between. I wonder if I were actually paying for the repairs, that they would’ve been a little more prompt with it?) Needless to say, I didn’t make it to work. Instead, I worked on a few things around the house.

So once again, I AM SUPER EXCITED the site is finally up and functioning! I hope you all LOVE it and are having as fantastic a night as I am!

xoxo
