Dreading higher temperatures

Well, the weekend has come and gone since the last time I wrote. I went out on Friday night after work with my friends, Angie and Jacklyn. We just did some bar hopping in my neighborhood, and ended up at a karaoke dive down the street which was packed.

It was an interesting mix of people, both young and old.  Some really young looking kid named Ben was hounding me all night. He said he played guitar and sang in a punk band, and looked no older than 19. He asked me to call him so I thought I would be nice and just put his number in my phone, since I didn’t think he would leave me alone anyways. Well he gives me a cell phone number, then tells me that it’s actually his roommate’s number but if I called, I could ask for him. LOL. He told me I could even leave a message for him. Then he made me promise I wouldn’t talk to his roommate when I called  (who also happened to be at the bar that night).  He told me he was looking for a job and would get his own phone when he started working. Haha, I love it! How cute….young lad picking up chicks in a bar without his own number to be reached at, nor a job. At least it was good for some laughs with my girlfriends later. The other guys we met while we were out, were all interesting….to say the least. It was good times.

I worked both Saturday and Sunday and it seems like business is just slowing down faster than the rising of the summer temperatures. It was pretty pathetic actually. It seemed like we had the same 3 customers in there all day! I hope this isn’t a prequel to what the rest of the summer is going to be like.  I was supposed to go to both a pool party on Saturday after work, then out with some girls for my friend, Valerie’s birthday, later that night but unfortunately had to cancel my plans for both. Work really wore me out and I knew I would have a hard time getting to work on Sunday after a long night out.  I’ll have to make it up to both friends that I cancelled on, especially Valerie. I’m sure she still had a good time, at least I hope so. Their plans were to go out for some food, then hit up some clubs in Scottsdale.        

I took yesterday off to help out a friend who was selling her car. She needed to drop it off and have me follow her so she would have a ride home. She filled up my gas tank and took me to lunch in return, which was really nice of her. We had korean food at a restaurant I have always wanted to try. I just had to have my spicy seafood tofu soup even if it was about 100 degrees outside. I think I heard once that Korean people believe you should always be burping and sweating at the end of a meal, and that goal was definitely achieved at the end of mine.  What a sexy thought, I know…

I’ll be working the rest of the week to make up for my slow weekend. Back to the salt mines tomorrow, I guess! I hope it pans out okay.
