FBR Open
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
I have never golfed in my life (unless you count miniature golf), but today I went to the FBR open! I think it was my first time being on an actual golf course, and we were hanging out in a skybox on the 16th hole. One of my friends from work knows someone that was sponsoring a corporate tent so she invited a few of us girls to hang out. There was a lot of food and an open bar, and I guess I learned a few things about the game of golf also. Haha. Today wasn’t the day of the actual tournament, just an open practice, so we didn’t have to be quiet when the golfers were taking their shots. I kept my eye out for celebrities since I heard they frequent the event, but didn’t see any. It was still a lot of fun though. I had a great time with my girls from work, and got to see some famous golfers like JB Holmes and Phil Mickelson practice on the 16th hole. I never thought I’d ever attend a pro golf tournament but all in all, it was an awesome day.
DMV, how I love thee…

After the great experience at my local Walmart yesterday, I decided to see if I could top yesterday’s fun with a trip to the DMV today. Haha, I know you guys all love going to the DMV also! It actually wasn’t all that bad and the wait wasn’t that long. However, I didn’t get my issue resolved, so I will have to return within the next three days.
Nothing major, just some issues with my insurance since I recently switched companies. It’s just a pain in the butt to have to go down there multiple times. Plus, the people that work there always seem like they took a bunch of sleeping pills before coming to work. Well I can imagine working at the DMV isn’t the most exciting career. And speaking of sleeping pills…..Heath Ledger, the actor, died today. An apparent suicide is what police are saying since a bottle of over the counter sleep aid was found near his body. I was shocked, quite honestly. I am not a huge fan or anything but he was a good actor and I will always remember him in “10 Things I Hate About You”. He was only 28. Sad.
I hate WalMart!
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
ARGHHHH! I just got home from Walmart, which as I’ve said before is the number one necessary evil in my life. And today just proved even more why I hate them so much. Well it all started this morning when I decided I would go get my oil changed, so I thought I would get it done at the Walmart Supercenter this time so I could pick up some things while I waited for my car. Plus, they do it for about half the price as the place I got it done last time. Well, when I got there, the guy told me it would be about an hour to an hour and a half…typical length of time for an oil change right??? So of course, I do all my shopping which takes about an hour and go back to the tire and lube center where the lady tells me my car is almost done. So I decide to get something to eat next door and come back. Thirty minutes later my car is still not done. So guess how long they actually
took…….3 hours!!!!!!!!! I must have been through every section in that store at least twice today! I swear they do it on purpose to make you shop more! So when the lady at the desk finally rings me up and gives me back my keys I comment that they must be busy…to which she of course replies, “No, not really!” And the saddest part of all this is that even if I left thinking how much I hate the place, I will definitely be back to shop there since it’s Walmart, the necessary evil. BLAH! At least my car is happy right now.
Football Sunday
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
Today was a great day at work. We also had the last games of this years football playoffs up on the big screens so I was able to catch a few glimpses of both games. I totally predicted the Patriots were going to Superbowl but I am pretty surprised about the Giants victory over the Packers. I think a Superbowl with New England and Green Bay woud be a real close game but then again, I also think it would be exciting to see the Giants surprise everyone and Eli Manning get a Superbowl ring, the year after his older brother. Plus, it’s always interesting when the traditional rivalry between New York and Boston becomes even more heated. In about 2 weeks, it is going to be crazy around here with the Superbowl going on. I still don’t know what I’m doing that Sunday. Hopefully someone I know is having a barbeque. LOL.
And finally my pick (but not prediction) will be the NY Giants! Okay enough about football. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Hungover!
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
Well last night was loads of fiun. We had about 7 girls at the party total, with 3 sleeping over. We didn’t get to bed till about 3 in the morning. Then I had to get up at 9 am to drive home to get ready for work! So of course I’m hungover all day and feeling pretty crappy. Oh well, it was worth it. I had a good day at work also so the day wasn’t all that bad. Last night, we basically hung out, ate a lot of great food, took shots, played drinking games, and just had a lot of fun. My friend made a ton of food. We had shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms and tomatoes, homemade spinach and artichoke dip, veggies, etc. She definitely put a lot of effort into being a great hostess! It was just too bad that more girls didn’t show up to enjoy all the food. Nobody was brave enough to get on the sybian pantless though, but everyone gave it a shot clothed. I guess it was a little too intense for most.
We did laugh our butts off everytime someone tried it though. My friend, Brittany made the funniest faces on it! I think she was probably the only girl to admit that she wanted one of her own. Haha!
Some girls even got into some drunk wrestling towards the end of the evening. I got it on video too. No hot lesbian action this time though, so sorry to ruin the fantasy guys! LOL. The best thing at the end of the night was that nobody got sick. I think we were all pretty hungover in the morning! All in all though, it was a blast! I am convinced that we should have an all-girl slumber party at least once a month now!
Excited about tonight!

So tonight is my best friend’s girls-only sleepover! It should definitely be fun. I don’t think I have been to a slumber party since high school, maybe even middle school. But of course, that was before we could drink so things stayed pretty PG-13. I’m taking the sybian tonight so we can see who gets toasted first and decides to sit on it without their pants. JK. It should be hysterical at the very least. I just called my friend who is throwing it and she has apparently been preparing appetizers since this morning. She is an excellent and creative chef also, so I’m looking forward to the food. I think I will stop by a store beforehand to pick up a bottle of some Grey Goose. I will let you all know about the mischief we get into tomorrow! I wonder how many girls will show up?????
Laid Back Day.

Today I finally took a day off from work and went to get the brakes on my car serviced. I hadn’t done so since I first got the car almost a year ago, and they were beginning to get a little squeaky. Turns out, they weren’t even that bad and not in need of immediate attention but I figured I would get it over with now and not worry about it. I also got my brake fluid flushed and restored. The guy who was taking care of me totally messed with me though! I was sitting in their wait room when he told me it would be about 4 hours! I totally believed him since there were a few other cars there. Plus he said it so nonchalantely and walked out. I immediately got on the phone to call a few people to see if I could get a ride back to my house because I for damn sure was not sitting there for 4 hours! After I couldn’t get in touch with anyone, I asked the same guy if there was a shopping center within walking distance. To which, he smiled and said…”I was just messing, it will be done in less than 30 minutes!” So that’s what I get for being a young and naive looking female who doesn’t know a thing about cars!
Crazy Day!
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
Well, today was my final day at work before I take the next two days off. It was pretty slow again today but at least something exciting happened. There was an altercation between two customers while I was just a few feet away, minding my own business. I guess one guy called the other customer, who was African-American, the “N” word, so of course, some yelling and pushing and shoving broke out. Some other guys got in between and it quickly ended when the guy who started it got kicked out. I’ve never seen anything like that happen at work before so it was at best, pretty amusing. I ended up taking my best friend home after work, which is beginning to become a royal pain-in-the-ass since she lives about 30 miles from me. So if you want to disregard all the other dangers and consequences of drunk driving, at least think of your poor friends, who have to drive your ass everywhere after you get busted! Just kidding, what are friends for…right???? I can’t wait for all of this to be over though. And I’m sure she feels that about 20 times more strongly than I do.
Great end to the week!

Work was busy again today so I am pretty satisfied at the moment. One more day until I can take the day off. I decided not to drive home this week since I think it would be wiser not to take the time off work. If think I would rather fly my sister down here to spend some time with her anyways. It would definitely beat sleeping on my parents couch if I went up there instead. We are going to get in so much trouble together when she comes out here though. I am just staying low key again tonight. Probably watch some TV and do some laundry tonight.
Honestly, I think I really enjoy being a homebody at night after I’ve spent a good day at work. The website is launching very soon so I am excited!
So tired…

Work was super busy today. A welcome change from the past week or two since the holidays have ended. I’m just hanging out at home tonight, as I am exhausted from the day. I am thinking of going home to see my parents and little sister next week but I have to see how the rest of this weekend at work goes. Hopefully it will stay busy. I am definitely loooking forward to the girly slumber party at my best friend’s house this weekend for her birthday. I wonder how many girls are showing up????
Happy Friday!

Finally, work is getting busier again! I just got home a little while ago. I’m just going to get a quick bite to eat, then get ready to meet up with some of my friends from work. We’re going to a bar where we get free drinks for knowing the bartender…and then, who knows. It’s been a while since I’ve been out, so I’m looking forward to it. I think this weekend will be good at work as well. So, I can’t get too crazy tonight since I have to work again tomorrow. Plus, Superbowl is coming to town! I bet our economy will have a lot to gain from that.
My prediction at this point is Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. Too bad, I’m not a huge fan of either team!
Memories

Today is my little sister’s 21st birthday. Unfortunately, she lives about 5 hours away with my parents so I wasn’t able to celebrate it with her. I have 3 other siblings but my 21 year old sister is the closest to me. Ever since I turned 21, it seems like I have been waiting forever for her to turn 21 as well. Well finally, it’s happened and I am in complete shock still that she is that old already. She is the youngest in my family so everytime I look at her, I just see her as a little girl…still. I’ve been reminiscing all day about us growing up, back in Hawaii. Makes me both happy and sad at the same time. I remember reading books to her in the backseat of my parent’s car while we drove places, right after I learned to read.
Also, accepting bribes to finish her homework at times, when we were in high school. LOL. Hopefully, I will get to see her soon and we can party it up, just like i’ve been waiting to do for so long!

I feel super productive! Decided to stay home and clean, clean, clean today! So I managed to clean the kitchen including the dishes, washed the towels and sheets, vacuumed, cleaned the bathrooms, even picked up the dog poop in the backyard and swept up the patio. My new dog, Cado, finds something to destroy everytime I put him outside. He’s already eaten up a few plants, and dug up the soil in the pots, which ended up all over the concrete. I hope he grows out of this destructive phase soon. He is barely a year old right now so I figure he is still going through his puppy phase. He’s only eaten one pair of slippers so I guess he’s not THAT bad. LOL. Staying home and cooking dinner tonight to complete the whole housewife experience. I’m making grilled salmon, rice, and broccoli.
Finally a day off!

Well, I finally got to enjoy a lazy day at home since I had the day off from my regular job. I just cleaned up the house a little and did a cam show on onecams.com earlier. It wasn’t a very big crowd, which is nice sometimes also. We ended it with a bubble bath in my guest bathroom which was great. I hardly use that tub, and in fact I think the other times I have were for shoots or cam shows, LOL. That also reminds me: note to self….need more waterproof toys! I just broke a pocket rocket tonight when I dropped it in the bathtub, oops!
Full of seafood!

I just got home from taking my best friend to dinner for her birthday.
We ended up going to the Islamorada Fish Company next to Outdoor World since it’s right by her house and I was taking her home from work anyways. It was our second time eating there. We both LOVE seafood, especially oysters on the half shell, and this place has pretty fresh ones for a good price. We ordered 2 dozen and she probably ate 18 of them, amazingly. We also shared some calamari and both had seared ahi.
So I am literally stuffed with seafood at the moment! The waiter flirted up a storm with us and even took her entree off the bill when she said it was her birthday! Being a cute girl is defintely convenient and useful at times.
Sunday, but not my funday…
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
Well, today was Sunday so as usual, I went to work in the afternoon.
Today was probably the slowest day it’s been all week which I’m not going to lie, is a little disheartening. Although, I try to remind myself that tomorrow is always a new day. I didn’t end up getting my best friend a birthday present yet, but I told her I would take her out for both our favorites, seafood, tomorrow night after work.
Tonight I am just relaxing at home with the dogs. Dinner and crossword puzzles in front of the TV, can’t get much better than that!
Fun Day At Work!
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
Saturdays are usually a lot busier at work but once again today was pretty slow. Nevertheless, it was still a pretty fun day since it was my best friend’s birthday, and as I have mentioned before, we both work together. (Although this is not always fun, believe me. LOL) Well, another girl at work made my friend a cake and the girls got invited to my friend’s birthday sleepover she is having in 2 weeks at her apartment. I haven’t been to a girls slumber party since probably high school so this should be an interesting event. Perhaps some spin the bottle or 5 minutes in heaven perhaps??? Haha, yeah right…although, I do have the pleasure of working with some pretty tasty looking women….hee hee. Maybe I should bring the sybian over for shits and giggles. I’m sure if there is alcohol involved, someone will be brave enough to at least straddle it with panties on by the end of the evening! One thing that sucks is that I need to figure out what I’m doing with the dogs on the night of the sleepover. Having them is like being a single mother sometimes.
THE HELLIDAYS ARE FINALLY OVER!
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
It’s been a few days since I wrote. I went back to work on the 2nd and have spent an exhausting couple of days getting back into the swing of things. 2008 seems to be off to a decent start though although work has been really slow still. Someone at work even blamed the current housing market for how sluggish it’s seemed recently. Ah well, I’m sure it will pick up soon. I have one more thing to shop for now that the holidays are over…my best friend’s birthday is tomorrow and I still have no idea what to get her. I think I went the easy route last year and got her a visa gift card, so I will definitely have to put more effort into it this year. Perhaps I will go to the mall (UGH) after work to pick her up something.

Chinese people think 8 is a good luck number so I am planning on having a year full of good fortune. There’s that superstitious Chinese side of me coming out……But in all seriousness, I am looking forward to a great year. Just hanging out at the house today, getting stuff done on the computer for the website. I think I might head out to the dog park in a little while. Also, making tequila lime chicken for dinner tonight. I got the recipe online this morning and have never made it before. I have to toot my horn a little and brag about my domestic goddess kitchen skills. Now if only I had someone to join me for dinner so I can prove that I am a fabulous cook……
New Year’s Eve
April 11, 2008 by Isis Lee · Leave a Comment
Well, still no plans tonight. I think I’ve had my fill of seasonal celebrating anyways. It will be nice to stay far away from drunk drivers and hopefully none will be crashing through my wall, like I see on the news pretty often. So here I am, just doing loads of laundry and hanging out with my two favorite boys, Lucky and Cado.
Definitely looking forward to a day off tomorrow finally! I hope everyone is out having a safe New Year’s Eve!
