Nice to meet you…

I finally met my neighbors across the street from me today. I was in the driveway, dragging my garbage cans into the garage and a guy about my age was just pulling in across the street.  He waved when he got out of his truck and started walking over. We exchanged all the formal salutations and he seemed like a nice guy. He told me that he lives with 2 roommates and they would be hanging out with some friends later tonight and that I was welcome to stop by for a beer and say hello. I have always made friends with my previous neighbors before I moved to this new neighborhood so I accepted his invite. I just got home from hanging out there for a few. They’re all nice, down-to-earth guys, around my age. One has a pretty and sweet girlfriend that is there quite often also. They also have a beagle! I can’t wait to take Lucky there to meet his neighbor too!   I’m pretty happy to know there are people my age across the street, and people in your neighborhood are more like to be watching out for your home when they know you personally. I can see myself hanging out with them more often.
